Jira is where development work gets tracked, and FeatureOS is where customer feedback lives. With the Jira + FeatureOS integration, you can connect the two for turning customer insights into actionable issues while keeping both product managers and developers in sync.

This integration allows you to create Jira issues from FeatureOS posts, link existing issues, push issues from Jira to FeatureOS, and keep statuses synchronized. With automatic rules and the Jira Glance Panel, your team never loses track of customer context.

Getting Started with Jira + FeatureOS

Step 1: Install FeatureOS on Jira

1. In FeatureOS: Go to Dashboard → Organization Settings → Integrations → Jira → Connect.
2. Make sure you’re logged into Jira.
3. Visit FeatureOS for Jira on Atlassian Marketplace → click Get it now.
4. After installation, click Configure.
5. Enter your FeatureOS API key → click Update.
6. Head back to the FeatureOS integrations page to continue setup.

Step 2: Update Configuration in FeatureOS

1. In FeatureOS → Jira Integration → click Configure.
2. As an admin, choose the Jira Project and Issue Type.
3. Enable Push to Jira to create issues from FeatureOS posts or link issues by typing the Jira issue key.
4. Enable Push from Jira to export issues from Jira into FeatureOS posts (automatic or manual).

Step 3: Set Rules for Sync

• One-to-One Sync: Update a FeatureOS post when any linked Jira issue changes status.
• All-to-One Sync: Update a FeatureOS post only when all linked Jira issues change to a configured status.
• FeatureOS-to-Jira Sync: Update linked Jira issues when a FeatureOS post changes status.
• Configure whether voters and subscribers should be notified of status changes.

How the Integration Works

• Create Jira Issues from FeatureOS: From any post, click Create in Jira. The Jira issue is created and linked automatically.
• Link Jira Issues: Search by issue key/title in FeatureOS → link it to a post. Linked issues appear in the Linked Jira Issues section.
• Push Jira Issues to FeatureOS: From Jira, use the Export to FeatureOS option in the Glance Panel. Issues appear as posts in FeatureOS.
• View Posts from Jira: Use the View on FeatureOS button in the Glance Panel to jump to the corresponding post.
• Description Sync: Jira issue descriptions sync to linked FeatureOS posts automatically (can be disabled on request).
